Toyota has unveiled its upcoming supercar, the GR GT, which is set to launch in approximately two years and aims to compete with models like the Mercedes-AMG GT and Aston Martin Vantage. The V8-powered car will also be the basis of a GT3 racing variant, with the vehicle focusing on exceptional performance and driver engagement, with contributions from seasoned racers and engineers to ensure a seamless blend of racing heritage and modern technology.
Toyota's recent teaser revealed not only the GR GT but also an updated version of the previously introduced Lexus Sport Concept, now known as the Lexus LFA Concept. While this new iteration pays homage to its legendary predecessor, it will be an electric vehicle, raising questions about whether it can live up to the legacy of the iconic V10 supercar.
The Toyota GR GT3, revealed alongside its roadgoing sibling, is set to replace the aging Lexus RC F in the competitive GT3 racing scene starting in 2027. Designed for high performance, this racer features a 4.0-liter twin-turbo V8 engine without the road car’s hybrid components, and advanced aerodynamics.
Encor Design has officially revealed its reinterpretation of the iconic Lotus Esprit, blending the classic aesthetics of the Series 1 model with the advanced V8 engine from later versions. The Porsche 963 will not participate in the 2026 World Endurance Championship, as Proton Competition is unlikely to secure the necessary support to field a second car, following the shutdown of Porsche Penske Motorsport's Hypercar program.
