The ongoing rivalry between McLaren drivers Lando Norris and Oscar Piastri remains surprisingly amicable, even amid a self-inflicted pit stop controversy during the Italian Grand Prix. Despite a pit stop issue that temporarily placed Piastri ahead of Norris, the two drivers maintained a cooperative spirit, swapping positions and finishing the race without the expected friction that often characterizes such competitive scenarios.

Porsche secured its inaugural victory of the World Endurance Championship Hypercar season in Austin, with Laurens Vanthoor, Matt Campbell, and Kevin Estre navigating a challenging wet race. Toto Wolff, the head of Mercedes, indicated that while there is a general agreement among Formula 1 engine manufacturers regarding a shift to V8 engines, accelerating this change before 2031 is not financially viable.
