Ford is planning to invest in an electric vehicle plant in Indonesia, leveraging the country's significant nickel production, which accounts for over 20% of the global supply. Amnesty International's recent report highlights that major electric vehicle manufacturers are failing to adequately address human rights risks in their mineral supply chains, particularly in relation to cobalt, lithium, nickel, and copper extraction.
